About Eyam Health

Named for a village that chose to sacrifice for the world.

Our name is our mission: to confront disease with clarity and courage — and to make medicine that reaches everyone it can.

Our story

The village of Eyam, 1665.

When the plague arrived in the small English village of Eyam — carried, it's said, in a bolt of cloth from London — the villagers faced a choice. They could flee, and spread the disease across the region. Or they could stay.

Led by their rector, they chose to seal themselves off — quarantining the entire village to keep the plague from reaching their neighbors. Hundreds inside Eyam died. But the surrounding towns were spared.

That spirit — protecting others, whatever it takes — is why we carry the name Eyam.

Founded in 2020 and built on the Gemini platform invented at the University of British Columbia, Eyam Health exists to solve the problem that decides whether a medicine ever reaches the people who need it: delivery. We are advancing a new generation of genetic medicines designed to work from a single, room-temperature injection — so durable, affordable treatment can travel far beyond the walls of a major hospital.

Eyam was selected for and graduated from the Creative Destruction Lab — the world's leading program for science- and technology-based ventures.

What drives us

Mission

To make genetic medicines that reach their target and last — by owning the delivery layer the entire field depends on.

Vision

A world where a single injection can protect or treat for months — anywhere, for anyone, without a cold chain.
